THE FAMILY MOULD series was prompted by the birth of the artists first child, reflecting on the past and what the future holds for her family. The series features selectively hand coloured photographs which reinterpret images from her family album by rephotographing them in a contemporary context. The exhibition also incorporated a short film focusing on times and places that have been significant in Ilona's personal growth.	COMM INC. featured in the Big West Festival in Melbourne 2009 as a unique exhibition that involved displaying the photographs in public places around the western suburbs. Residents stumbled upon the works in unusual places and took them home, reconnecting them to their community, with the complete series only being revealed on Ilona's website.
